Inspiration from Psalms 23

29 Oct

By Xain Gardezi

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want
The diamond flower bed or the silver plant
The castle of ruby or the land of gold
I need not my will, my soul is sold

Lantern in night shall be the book of light
The true path is so clear and bright
I shall move on; no matter if the road is harder
For I seek not my will but the will of the Father

I shall be tied to the door of Tatheer
Disturbs me not the voice of Israfeel
I shall rest along the remains of Khak-e-Shafa
Will keep smelling the scent of Karbala

I graze beside the Kausar of honey and milk
I need not worry about robes and curtains of silk
My body is not troubled by flu or fever
For I shall dwell in the house of Lord, for ever
